Currently Spotfire allows us to cobrand the product using cobranding.config file.
If a module is created with this file as resource, then the used banner and logo images are the ones specified in cobranding.config ... this is great.
It also affects 'Help > about window so that the show image is what is specified in cobranding.config as well as Product name and Support URL.
What is missing is the ability to specify the product version, build number and build date ... This should be available in cobranding.config but it is not. If cobranding.config is fixed to support these new fields, then we expect that 'About' screen should display in addition to Product name & URL, the version/Build/Build date ...
We would like to file a feature enhancement for the addition of these 3 new fields in cobrand cobranding.config file.
We built around 10 custom extensions using Spotfire 5.0 SDK ... All these extensions are deployed as one product with one unique version number and release date. The problem that we facing today is that there is no way in Spotfire to know the version of the deployed extensions (assuming that all extensions have the same version number). The work around that we adopted until today (which is ugly) is to add a custom tool that brings up our "About" screen with our version number. Ideally, this tool has to be removed and replaced by Spotfire native Help window (if we can add our version number in it via cobranding).
