This request and especially the title was a bit open ended but it is possible to determine what data to load into an analysis from an information link based on the characteristics of that analysis since Spotfire 3.1 by passing document properties to data loaded on demand from an information link. This solves at least some of the needs behind the original request. I changed the title to make the problem that was solved a bit more clear. If you have a different use case it would be great if you submitted a new idea.
