Following is a scenario that I has more often and faces this issue:
Steps to reproduce

- Create a visualization with data linked to an Excel data source - Name it Data Table1.
- Add another data table based on Data Table1 and create a pivot with 2 columns (with a common column that exists in Data Table1) - Name it Data Table2.
- Create a calculated column to rank column 2 in Data Table 2.
- Now using add columns from external data, add column 3 (Ranked column) from Data Table 2 to Data Table1.
Once the Ranked column is added to data table 1, the Store Data option had Embedded to Analysis selected.
Expected behavior

Although I does this circular referencing, I expect that the Linked to Source is selected for Data Table 1
