I would like to add a value into each box of the heat map. Currently users have to hover over each box in order to see the values in a Tooltip. That is a waste of time.

A scatterplot with tiled markers can sometimes serve the same purpose as a heat map. Here's an example of what such a plot looks like with centered labels. The labels will show up when you zoom in enough to make room for them
