Currently the modify permission is too broad and allows a user to modify and/or delete a library object (folder/analysis file) they have access to. We want to allow the modify but prevent a user from being able to delete the object. We want the delete permission to be separate so we can just grant that permission to a select few whilst continuing to allow more users the ability to publish their objects to the library.
When such a delete occurs it can take a long time to rebuild, from backups, an temp environment just so we can extract the deleted object

We have the same issue.
Other way will be to have a "recycle bin" concept like in windows, allowing users to recover analysis by themself.
