The ODBC Hortonworks Hive connector does not support HTTP options. This option is a standard parameter in the Hortonworks Hive ODBC driver and not customizable in the Spotfire Hortonworks ODBC connector.
This parmeter is manadatory and has to be set up to access our cluster, that means that we are not able to use Spotfire as the standard data visualization tool to access Hadoop data.

I'm happy to announce that the Hortonworks connector in Spotfire 7.9 now supports Apache KNOX. Thanks for all your votes and feedback!
Hi,
I recently faced a similar situation where I needed to configure the Spotfire Hortonworks connector with HTTP as the Thrift Transport mode, and with the HTTP Path parameter.
I managed to work around this issue using the Driver Configuration tool that is installed with the Hortonworks ODBC Driver.
From the Windows Start menu, in the Hortonworks Hive ODBC Driver folder, run the Driver Configuration tool.
In that tool, configure the Thrift Transport to HTTP then click on HTTP Options and configure the HTTP Path (the default value for this parameter in Hive configuration is « cliservice »). Once done with the configuration, click OK to save it.
Restart any open Spotfire Analyst for the changes to take effect.
Then create a new Hortonworks data connection from the Spotfire Analyst, and configure the authentication settings. Make sure you leave unchecked the « SASL » checkbox.
