Export to Excel, from the web client, to uphold formatting as table coloring rules and more.

When choosing Export (with formatting) within the Web Player, it currently exports to a bare-bone *csv file. This export will include the value formatting of the Cross Table, or the Column Properties, but nothing more. The customer here would like the ability to export directly to Excel, with this including the coloring set up for the table as well as ensure that Excel does not format it differently, when opening it there (which is the usual use-case).

Starting with Spotfire 14.0 LTS, report developers and users can export to Microsoft Excel their table visualizations, including tables, cross tables, summary tables, and graphical tables, while preserving their layout, styling, and formatting. This functionality ensure that reports can be easily shared as tabular data, just as they were designed in Spotfire, without the need for additional manual effort.

I would like to reiterate the need for such a feature. The Spotfire table formatting capabilities are basically wasted if my management can't download the table with the formatting for other uses.

    Thanks,

    Cindy

    Hi Tobias,

Many customers really need this feature as soon as possible.

    When is this feature implemented?

Nice Feature. Currently there are two Options. Export with Formatting and without.

But Both of them exports to csv. CSV has no formatting.

When ist the Excel Export Feature implemented?
