In Statistica workspaces, typically, we are using some set of nodes to achieve concrete goal. Annotations and arranging nodes are good way to make workspace more clear and readable. What about placing annotations to the canvas behind the nodes with a possibility to make different color background of annotation field. This could solve the situation when you place a node in workspace and it is hidden under annotation as well as make possible to arrange nodes to groups with description of groups. Appologies for not perfect picture showing the idea.
This was a suggestion I just received from COP as well.
This idea could look in practise like coloring the sections in Streambase workspace.
