Have you tried the ServiceNow JDBC Adapter provided by CDATA.

CDATA has been acquired by Tibco and there is a free trial of the adpater as well.
I have not tried it but rather going the REST way this could be a lot more efficient and easier to integrate.

As a proponent of free data your proposed solution makes me somewhat RESTless, but it may be worth the try. A real data connector would be a lot better, allowing the requestor to decide what data is accessed, in stead of a remote and busy supplier.
You can connect using a REST connection and ServiceNow's API. It is a bit of a pain though; REST generally in TDV takes some setup.
