In the TDV WebUI one can search the data catalog by annotations at the resource-level. In TDV Studio annotations can be added on the column-level as well. These appear in the WebUI on the Columns tab in the Description column. For documenting purposes it would be great to be able to search the column description too. In this way annotations can be specific to columns and be searched in the WebUI.
Annotation searchability would be a benefit for building out data models by streamlining the data used. Example: multiple data sources contain tables with a column containing 'id', with nothing that clarifies what type of id (sales, marketing, database, company etc). Being able to search the annotation to narrow down what specific id the user needs could prevent having to troubleshoot and recreate joins.
