We have applications on Spotfire which load data from Tibco Data Virtualization (before called Cisco Information Server) using Kerberos 'unconstrained delegation' from Spotfire to Tibco Data Virtualization. Here we are using JDBC driver cs.jdbc.driver.CompositeDriver (csjdbc.jar).
Now we are going to implement new security requirement in the company (starting soon) to only allowing ‘constrained delegation’.
Hence, we were testing Spotfire to Tibco Data Virtualization connection with Kerberos ‘constrained delegation’, and learned that (Tibco Case Number: 01566211) given JDBC driver does not support for ‘constrained delegation’.
What we expect from this idea to get fix for JDBC driver cs.jdbc.driver.CompositeDriver (csjdbc.jar) so that it supports Kerberos ‘constrained delegation’.
Since we are planning to roll-out new security requirements soon in the company, we would like to get informed about a possible delivery date as well.
Hi Jason,
Thank you for the response. We are aware of the TDV 7.0.8 release and we have started with the upgrade of TDV as well.
However, we would like to get it confirmed if only the upgrade of the TDV is enough for connecting Spotfire to TDV else there is a seperate driver that has to be installed on SPOTFIRE Server (like, we had csjdbc.jar installed on the Spotfire Server to connect to TDV.
So, there is no driver required to be installed on the Spotfire Server end since the TDV 7.0.8 has the supported driver?
Regards,
Subha K
This was implemented in 7.0.8 which is available on eDelivery.
