When you go to Edit -- Data Function Properties and open up the Edit Parameters dialog...if the data function is set to update automatically, even if you hit cancel, the data function runs. This behavior should be changed so that if the user hits cancel, the data function is NOT executed. With the existing behavior, I have to wait for data functions to run even if i just want to view the parameters but don't need the function to execute. This hangs up the project.
Trying to cancel usually just results in the application locking up.
As a workaround it is possible to cancel the execution from the progress dialog you can reach by clicking the progress indication (the globe in Spotfire 10).
