We need an Filter option to enable selection of only a single value like a traditional dropdown. Currently the only option for forcing a single selection is to use an Item filter which isn't a very standard or easy to use control. We should offer a filter type of dropdown which could allow All or only 1 value to be selected. We offer this as a property control but not a filter control.
While a drop down is the preferred option having the ability via filter scheme properties to limit a list box to only one selection would be helpful. I have multiple customer that have had to create convoluted workarounds because of this minor missing piece.
A few reasons, radio buttons are limited to only a few values (don't remember the (threshold) and also take up more real estate than a simple drop down. That said, I don't remember the specific use case from 4yrs back.

The radio button filter enables to filter to one single value or all. Is your request strictly about the listbox filter?
