This has been a long standing issue for us in that the Spotfire Server will not start when connection to any LDAP server it syncs with fails. We are large organisation and sync our Active Directory users via LDAP for 4 different Windows Domains. As such the changes of an LDAP server failing are not so low, specially considering each domain has multiple domain controllers. It is certainly possible for the Spotfire Server to continue working normally when one of your LDAP servers are down. Obviously authentication for that LDAP domain might be affected but clearly the Spotfire Server can handle such situation. So it should be possible for the Spotfire Server to start even if one or many LDAP syncing configurations are failing.
