In a similar fashion to how we can click cells in graphical tables or KPI charts, allow click actions on bars / points etc in all visualisation types. The caveat being user has to turn marking off on the vis (to prevent confusion on what a click can do)
We are asked for this one over and over again - click a bar to go to some other page with more details. It isn't just a details vis requirement, it's literally using the vis as a navigational tool as well as data visualisation.
A customer suggested to have actionable URLs in KPI charts in order to navigate from a global Spotfire reports with KPI charts to dedicated reports per business units/divisions
This should be the implementation of the "Action" item already in some visualizations. New Spotfire competitors try to sell "Story telling" to our business users, and this could be the way to improve this kind of capability in Spotfire.
Hello Niklas-the work around you suggest only works in the analyst or if you purchase TERR which is out of our budget. Are there any other work arounds you can point me to?
This could be useful - however for my current project(s), I can't use it unless you can think of a way to add context / metadata through the marking as well. What I mean is, I have multiple instances of a barchart, each with the same categories, but each also with a different base filter. I would need somehow to pass the chart title or chart base from the marked chart through to a doc prop. Any ideas?
Hi Niklas - I wasn't aware of the workaround. I will look into this, thanks!
Janine, thanks for posting this Idea. As you may already know, there is a work-around using a data function.
