It would be a big help if when you click "Switch Visualization To" > "Cross Table" Spotfire could take the configuration of a non-tabular visualization and automatically build a cross table that replicated the data in a visualization. It is handy to look at the numerical data building a visualization in a tabular format to help see issues with a plot configuration. In essence Spotfire is doing this behind the scenes, it just isn't exposed. I imagine this as almost flipping the visualization over in place and seeing the data table that build it behind it.
