Make Information Designer a non-modal form

50 times a day, I open Information Designer, navigate a complex folder hierarchy, make my change and close the Designer.  Why can’t I keep my Information Designer open all the time in the background and minimise it.  Either that or make it a separate application entirely so I can work on them at the same time.
