It is already possibility to filter or provide prompting when loading data from an information link or even from other database sources. However, these filters are limited to POSITIVE matches (single select, range, multi-select, etc).
It would be extremely useful to be able to also perform NEGATIVE searches ("all EXCEPT x") for these filter/prompt types. If I have 1k possible values in a database with 10M rows, it's pretty tedious to wait for it to gather a list of values just so I can weed out the 3 I don't want. Would be much easier to just type them in and hit the NOT button.
There's a workaround within information links to customize the SQL script to use NOT's, but that's not accessible to the average user. Would be better if Spotfire could support this natively.
