Deploy data connectors via the Spotfire Server

We are looking at deploying data connectors for using in-database connections (keep data external). We use an Oracle database, and want to connect through the Spotfire Server. Currently it is required that the Spotfire client installs a driver on the client machine.

The request is to have the data connection go through the Spotfire server, instead of having the connection from the client machine to the database (this due to firewall issues).

    Not sure what you mean by external by Information Links can load data on demand, ie doesn't have to be cached.

    Unfortunately that's no option. The goal is to keep data external. This is not possible with IL's.

    Then don't use Data Connectors and use Information Links which connect via the server even on the client side and don't need any local drivers.
