There is a need to send emails with Excel file attached on scheduled basis. A customer with high reporting demands need to execute some reports to follow some scenarios/cases that are very critical and deliver the results to different teams to support and coordinate further actions. It would help the management team, save time and assist us with the server performance (a considerable number of users pulling a high volume of data around the same time)
PS: You aren't really using Spotfire properly if you perpetuate the Excel world by giving users the data. Why can't you find a way for them to use the data within Spotfire to find what they want?
Spotfire Automation Services can already export to Excel and send an email with it as an attachment. See attached job XML for a sample. Both Windows and Linux have built-in scheduler tools as well which you can easily use to schedule an Automation Services job to do what you want.
What is it exactly that you think can't be done?
