When a script is developed, any other author access has to validate and trust scripts. Any change to the report will then require another author to re-trust the scripts. WHile the idea is good, having authors review and "trust" by the click of a button is not adding trust but adds frustration.
It should be possible for a script to be built and then locked and "certified" by some script certification signing process that "compiles" or LOCKS it from changes so that it does not prompt other authors in future. If the script is then edited, it will remove the certification
Clicking trust is like clicking "I agree" on the software installs these days...
Implemented in | 14.4 |
Action mods, introduced in Spotfire 14.4, extend Spotfire with a new type of lightweight reusable action component that can be tailored for specific domains and use cases. Using actions within visual analytics provides extensive options for carrying out tasks and enhancing workflows across all analytic elements, spanning from visualizations to data.
Ti, how do you mean you can only trust all or nothing? It is fully possible to trust a single script by clicking Review and then OK in the manage trust and scripts dialog.
In addition, we can only trust all or nothing
I am interested in talking to those of you that voted for this idea. I'd like to speak about your use cases and what you think are important features related to this subject. Please reach out to me at nambernt@tibco.com if you are interested.

Trusted developer signatures would be a huge win for our deployment workflow as well. Please consider this TIBCO.
