In many cases you want to give different groups different permissions on folders and creating group as the permissions for the different folders may change over time. It would be nice to have the option to copy folders permissions from one folder to another in these cases to simplify set up as you might want the majority set up and remove the ones who then don't have access or set it up temporarily and then remove only specific groups/users when the situation dictates the need in the future.
