Split cross table by column which is not displayed

Use case: We have materials with properties. However, materials can have multiple valid names, so they are identified by an ID. In a cross table, I want to combine data from multiple data tables with the key being the ID of the materials, but I want to display the names in the cross table. Doing so however is only possible I think when the ID is used on an axis to split the data.

So I would like to be able to split the data in the cross table by a column which is not displayed. This would be a similar functionality to the "Marker by" in scatter plots.

The attached file shows an example, I'd like to have the cell values as shown in the "working" cross table, but with only the Name on the y-axis (as shown in the "not working" cross table.
