Unless you select a categorical scale, there's no ability to change the width of the bars in a bar chart. They default to very thin lines. Plus once you change it to categorical, you have no way to add a vertical line to the chart. Having the ability the change the width of the bar whether continuous or categorical would make the bar chart visualization more useful.
I have a stacked bar chart and want to increase the bar width without needing a category axis. I need it to be continuous so that I can add a vertical line. For a (stacked) bar chart with a continuous x axis, the 'bar width' option under 'appearance' is grayed out, so I can't actually do that. I do want the x axis to be continuous though, because I want a vertical line in there, and the continuous axis doesn't allow that. So either the bar width should be adjustable for a continuous axis, or a way to add a vertical line on a category axis.
