Spotfire Analyst - Allow to open files with "wrong" extention

While a "logfile.log" can be added as a Data Table, another log file called "logfile.log1" can not be added. Could Spotfire Analyst handle this and treat the *.log1 file as a "regular log file"? Allowing this could lead to avoid having to change some system configurations or develop script to rename files.
