It is common practice to exchange date or date/time information in ISO 8601 format, so it would be helpful if Spotfire automatically recognised strings in this format as dates, and offered the ISO formats in the dropdowns when editing column properties in the data panel. Obviously it's possible to work around this by entering a custom format, but I often find myself having to refer to the documentation to remember what the correct custom format is...
