Scientists would benefit from this as it will enable rapid identification of a new data in large data sets.
The tool would compare new data table with old one, and the new data cell would be colour-coded or visualised in a different way. On our projects we spend significant portion of time looking for a new data in tables, especially that we deal with big data files. It can be truly painstaking process and any mechanism that would allow rapid identification of new data would greatly appreciated.
I see! Thanks for clarifying. This is not something we are planning right now but may be possible with a custom extension.
Hi Thomas,
Thank you for the interest.
I had particular cells in mind as columns/rows are included in the "previous" version, but just lack a value. Actual data structure does not change very often, some cells just get updated over time. That is what makes tracking changes difficult.

Milosz
Hi Milosz, the Source View makes it easy to see what add rows, add columns and calculatd columns that are included in a Spotfire final data table.
Would it help you if when you select one of these operations in the Source View, and are viewing the Data tab in the Source View, Spotfire would automatically scroll and highlight the selected operation's added rows, added columns or calculated columns respectively?
