As far as my last contact with support about this item, like 2 years ago, maybe more (it was when 7.5 appear) even with the gui set on spotfire scheduling and routing to "check for update" every week, the duration of the cache itself was a max of 1 day, so basically, if I set a rule to update a cache every week, it will stay in cache just 24 hours after the update, and if I try to open it after that time, it will load but not as cached file. it will request data to the database.
That was tested on that moment and was working like that, so we assume that we need to reload everything every 24 hours and we has been working like that since then.
However, I didn´t test it on the following versions.
After putting this Idea, I found an article from 2018:
https://support.tibco.com/s/article/How-to-create-a-weekly-Scheduled-Updates-file-rule-which-refreshes-the-analysis-file-only-once-a-week
that says it should work, that will cached only once a week. I dind´t try it yet, so maybe I should upload again the case to support in case I cannot make it work.
bottom like, it is teorically already implemented.
Could you please elaborate on which cache you are referring to?
