when there are many widgets in a dashboard, it is really hard to keep them all arranged in a nice manner. e.g. have small widgets left and right and a bigger one in the middle - the user ends up in using a physical ruler holding to the screen to be sure the widgets are arranged correctly.
Layout design could have a switch for 'snap to grid' or even support orientation lines like e.g. Powerpoint does
