When we use a data connection to retrieve data from an Oracle database, the Spotfire client opens 5 connections to the database with each usage. Those connections remain open even after you close the template using File > Close. The only way to close the connections is to exit from the Spotfire session.
So we ask to add a way to configure either the data connection or the data source template to restrict a data connection to open only one database connection.
The connections are held by the Oracle connection pool. There is currently no way of specifying the connection pool size, but you could try setting the connection life time, see:
