expose API to write log to user action log

Customer would like to write log to user action log, in order to record usage and actions user has performed on a custom extension.


Please expose API to do so if possible.

    Would be extremely helpful for managing distributed logging across many installed clients.

    This would be extremely useful for us. We are OK to write our own actions to a separate DB table.
