specify steps of scale labels on a continuous axis

Customer wants to specify steps of scale labels on a continuous axis.

e.g. if set step to 0.5, the labels would be 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, ...


Currently one can specify minimum and maximum of the scale and also can specify the number of labels. In this way the steps can be adjusted more ore less but still it changes along with the actual size visualization area.
