The landing page is meant to be there as intro to show you the available menu sections (base on your access), only as a quick menu just when you've just logged in.
Once you select a section, you have all the section buttons available in the left menu panel. Why would you want to go back to the landing page?

Landing page means "http://server/spotfire/#/landingPage" which is as the attached image.
The attached image is for v10.10, in 12.0 it's similar (with different design) and users can not go back to this page however in 10.10 it's possible.

Just to make sure we understand your suggestion correctly, we need to understand what you refer to as "landing page" in this context. Is it the library view, or something else? A screenshot may help to make sure we are thinking about the same page.
