Improve Map Chart Rendering Speed with Additional Control on Data Source Loading

Issue

Using either Information Link and Data Connection as a Data Source, Map Chart will automatically try to load underlying data, even when said data layer is unchecked - i.e., set to hide.

Goal

For a data layer that is unchecked in a Map Chart, any data fetch on it shouldn't force the Map to spin (re-render), even when the underlying data may be loaded for other visualizations in .dxp.

Request

  • An option to not execute Information Links when opening .dxp if they are not actively used in any visualizations - e.g., active layer in a Map Chart.

  • For On-Demand Data Source, provide a way to forcefully suppress the Load Automatically option on .dxp launch, only executing the command when it's triggered - e.g., Marking, Filtering Scheme, Property Control.
