Th Custom Queries feature allows users to execute a database query when connecting to a database but before ingesting data into Spotfire, which works effectively to limit data processing times for a large data table. Custom queries must be executed by a "custom query author" in order to be visible and "trusted" by other users, but these sorts of roles only exist for Spotfire Server, not for Spotfire Desktop. Therefore, there is no practical use case for custom queries in Spotfire Desktop DXPs that are shared between users. It would be nice to have a feature to cache user trust options for custom queries in Spotfire Desktop. This could work similarly as for IronPython scripts, for which trust is captured once by a user and managed by Spotfire moving forward.
