Contour plots are essential for analyzing how key process parameters interact. For instance, in semiconductor manufacturing, a typical example is visualizing how a critical dimension (color axis) varies with changes in focus (x-axis) and dose (y-axis) during the lithography step. Spotfire’s map chart is a strong candidate for such visualizations, as it is able to use non-geographical inputs as well and supports multiple layers—allowing the addition of model fits or specification lines alongside the raw data.
To better support use cases in the manufacturing industry, it would be highly beneficial if map charts could display coordinate axes and axis labels, as illustrated in the attached image.
Since we always use the map chart w/o a coordinate reference system and it is kind of cumbersome to always tell each new map chart and each new layer that their CRS is "None" it would be nice if "None" could be set as a default from the server side to further facilitate the use of the map chart with X/Y type data.
