I think you are able to do this in Analyst.
I needed to copy the Expression text out of the Column Properties in the Web Player data canvas, since its the only way to get to them on the WP. They are pretty gnarly. Unfortunately this is not possible I think. Would be super nice if this worked instead of locking them up like they are now.

If you are working with calculated columns, their expressions can indeed be accessed and copied directly from the Data in Analysis panel. Simply open the Data in Analysis panel, select the column of interest, and open the column properties to access the expression (see attached screenshot).
However, if your case involves transformation functions (add columns for instance), those are different and can't yet be copied directly from there.
