Currently the calculated columns are embedded even if all the data tables in the analysis are set as linked.
User would like to have the option to select if I would want to save the calculated columns in the analysis or recaclulate when the analysis is opened.
Use case - when I opens the linked version Spotfire first has to download the entire embedded data for calculated columns, then read data from data source and re-calculate the calculated columns. The first step in this process really becomes a show stopper especially when the analysis pulls millions of records.
Just to cite an example, an analysis with 30 calculated columns and 13 million records ends up being 1.2GB on the Spotfire database. This means it has to download completely useless data of 1.2 GB when this template is opened which takes more than 2 hours over a slow network.
