template in-memory compression

hello folks,
it's my understanding that QlikView, Tableau and other tools, do a very good job of in-memory compression of data.
Currently, we have some very large templates with embedded data, that on disk are approx 1-2gb, however, in RAM (webplayer), cached, they expand to some 20-30gb.    Is there any way to better compress the .dxp files once they are cached on the server?
