Customer has multiple business units and individual admins of these BU's should not be able to see each other's content in the library, but they still would like to let "admins" for specific units be able to move folders in the library to other Spotfire servers (e.g. moving between test and production server). So, they would like to be able to export "their" folders and then import to the production server. They should not be able to see or export other groups' folders, and they should only be able to import to folders where they have permissions.
Ex; Admin A from finance team should be able to import/export 'Finance' folders but he shouldn't have access to view/import/export folders related to IT team.
This is much needed feature.
That has been asked for repeatedly by some of my clients, since 2016. It is a shortcoming of Spotfire that makes Security Auditors unhappy.
This would be great for us. Currently, we cannot grant this fonctionality to the users.
The whole concept of SW development lifecycle management is quite hopeless (even in applications as recent TSv7.8). For companies that outsource their operations this is an added cost on activities that should be 'self-managed', driving up the TCO of the BI ecosystem
This will be great for us too. Currently only Library Administrators have access to Library Import/Export options which gives them full power to do anything they want.
