Uphold default template chosen in PowerPoint, when exporting to PowerPoint from Spotfire.

The customer would like the company template, which is set to default on the users PowerPoint installations, to be used when exporting to PowerPoint from Spotfire. Currently Spotfire is only choosing a blank page, without any template, when exporting. Current workaround is to have a PowerPoint session already running, when exporting, which the customer feels is a hassle.

Customer reasoning on the enhancement request:
Each customer has a standard corporate PowerPoint theme that must be applied to all presentations. Instead of forcing each user to manually apply the theme every time they create a new PowerPoint, it would be much easier if Spotfire would automatically pick up and apply the default theme when a new PowerPoint is created.

Export to PPT should indeed provide more flexibility.
Today we aren't using much of it because it involves lots of copy/paste.
Having such capability would increase our user experience for sure!

got a customer request on this, too. Large and strategic customer.

seems like a natural thing to comply with company's standards.

Thx! it would be good to change the default in Webplayer from 4:3 to 16:9 instead, or at least give the user the chance to select the template format they need.

any idea if and when this can be implemented?

In fact the workaround described used to work with older versions (2016 it certainly did work). But since Spotfire X exporting to an already open PPT (which is based on a company template) Spotfire will not add a new "content" slide but a new "title" slide with the images on it (as described here). Since that used to work I think that might be a low hanging fruit to re-enable that workaround at least?

Good idea. The same should be applied for webplayer.
