By default, characteristics and labels with variable piece sizes start with 1 field, requiring manual addition of pieces. It would be helpful and time-saving to have an option to set the default number of pieces displayed when starting a new entry e.g. start with 3 pieces. Ideally, one should be able to set a range for the number of pieces to add.
