Fixed width files are not a modern format, but they are still used in some cases.
I hope it will be supported at the adapter level.

The fixed width files that can be introspected with CData TDV Adapter for CSV only support fixed width data consisting of ASCII codes, and files containing multi-byte character strings such as Japanese were not supported.
Widh that can be specified in Schema.ini is the number of characters, not bytes.
Note that CData has a TDV Adapter for CSV files that can be configured to read fixed width files.
