Preserve Pivot-generated aggregated columns when the input data has no rows

When a Pivot transformation is used to create an aggregated column (e.g., Sum), the column disappears when the input data has no rows.

For example:

  1. A Pivot transformation creates a Sum column.

  2. A Table visualization uses the Pivot-generated column.

  3. The query is changed so that it returns 0 rows.

  4. The Pivot-generated aggregated column is no longer available, and therefore disappears from the Table visualization.

We would like to have an option to preserve the Pivot-generated column in the data table and Table visualization even when the input data has 0 rows.
This would allow the Table visualization structure to remain unchanged when the query temporarily returns no data.
