Ability to mark rows in a table without overriding text formatting.

I would very much appreciate the ability to mark rows in a table without losing all of the text (specifically color) formatting. I expect many users have tables with color formatting as a visual aid for users to make certain cells stand out. Adding KPIs other methods of marking rows then results in all of the text color formatting being overridden by the marking (all text turns black when rows are marked).
