Client login dialog should display specific Server(s) Merged

A breif explanation of what we have dealt with and we believe is a good thing to pursue to improve and avoid errors.
An issue we have been dealing is that in our Production environment in the client's login dialog (Spotfire Analyst) users can connect to the Test server. This is not what we want as for now we are upgrading the Server hence we have two different versions! In case the users connect to the newest (Test Server) they wont be able to use the Prod Server!

For us would be important that Spotfire recognizes either:

1. The environment where it is situated (hence only the chance to connect to the Prod Server).

2. Be able to recognize the version of the server si not the same as the one trying to connect and warn the user.

3. Only the ADMIN should be able to give green light to the users to update the Spotfire Analyst and not each user independently.

Hope I was clear enough! Sometimes I tend not to be.

Cheers

This is fixed in 7.5 I think. You can hide the deployment areas and you can permission them so they can only see whichever deployment areas you want. However the proper way of doing this is to have a complete separate server for Testing. Two deployment areas is hack since you are still sharing the same Spotfire server so you don't really have separation between Test and Production.
