Custom Query restriction is not mentioned in manual

When we work with Data Connection it is possible to creare a Custom Query with parameters based on the manual below:

In this manual it is said that a parameter in a customer query can be mapped to a property control in the text area. It turned out that it is not possible to replace a table with a parameter based on the case 01458317. In the manual I mentioned above it is not very clear that a table can't be replace with a parameter, that's why it confuses. So I belive it would be great to add this restriction into the manual to make it clear.
