Use parameters in Scheduled Updates

Hi,

It would be very useful to be able to set document parameters in scheduled updates. This way it would be possible to schedule the very same document with different settings.

Currently, one has to create as many versions of the dxp as many different settings should be used.

Thanks,

Laszlo

Would that actually imply the possibility to commandline start the report with parameters? That would be interesting in more than only scheduled update situations...

Exactly, there are workarounds for this but it might even be more userfriendly!

OK I see. I think in that case it makes sense. One way you could achieve this is by running the report for all business segments and then use a mashup to let the user select the business segment they want to see. You will then pass that in URL parameter and let the report apply the filter automatically. Granted it's not as easy as having parameters in the SU but gets around that problem.

Sure, but the value of parameters not necessarily correlates with the users, but with other aspects like business segments.

Are you aware that you can set certain information links to be loaded for each user in a scheduled update?

yes that will be helpful. Also if we could be able to follow steps such as

Open report > Update Document Properties > Click Button 1 > Click Button 2 > wait for the data load > save analysis
