Currently when you add a new layer in a map chart it is named based on the data table name, so this means if you can easily get multiple layers with the same name.
It would be great if when creating a new layer, Spotfire either used some form of autonaming mechanism, or it always opens the General tab of the Map Layer properties menu with a blank layer name so the user must enter one
Can also confusion because if the name of the underlying table is changed it is not reflected in the map chart. Testing also showed that the program defaults to the name of a Marker layer table, regardless of the order layers were added.
