Data Flow Graph

In a Spotfire Analysis, there are numerous elements that interact with each others (like filters, markings, scripts, on demand data, document proprieties). Sometimes their interactions can become complex, especially as the analysis grows and it is not always easy to follow what is used by who and who influences what.

Even if all these information are accessible through the Spotfire Analysis Editor, they remain scattered and gathering them to have an overview of your analysis's inner workings can be an arduous process.

The idea is to have a sort of visualization of the Data Flow of the Spotfire Analysis that would recap all those information into one place, much like the "View>Data>Source view", but with more details and displaying the full flow of Data in the Analysis.

It will be useful to locate unused crypts or DC, as well as to understand what will be affected if a certain element is changed. It will also be very useful for a Spotfire Developer who is taking over an Analysis created by an other person (because even if you can comment code, you can't really leave any comments regarding the usage of DC, Documents proprieties).

Thanks for a great idea Jeremy. It's in our direction to add more and information to the data canvas over time and what you suggest are great additions.
